Trust

According to the Oxford Language Dictionary the first meaning of trust, as a verb is: believe in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of. When you look at the first definition as a noun it’s: firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. I was taught nouns are people, places and things while verbs are action words. At least that’s what I remember. Of course, I had to ask Google what the difference is between a noun and a verb. They said “Noun: a word that refers to a person, place, thing, event, substance or quality e.g.'nurse', 'cat', 'party', 'oil' and 'poverty'. Verb: a word or phrase that describes an action, condition or experience e.g. 'run', 'look' and 'feel'.”

Today, I’m focusing on trust as a verb. Trust as an action word. I picked trust to be the word that I intentionally focus on this year. I’ve asked the Universe, Love, God to show me in kindness what I’m unaware of in regards to trust. I have been, and am learning a lot. Mostly, I’m learning to trust myself and my inner guidance system. You might call it your gut or your intuition. It’s that inner knowing that speaks to you in a multitude of ways. It’s our connection to universal consciousness that simply knows. It knows when something or someone is for us, and it knows when they are not. It’s the internal compass that says yes or no. The challenge sometimes is discerning which voice is speaking to us when we ask a question, because we also have our ego speaking to us incessantly. Ego being the conscious (as opposed to unconscious) mind.

Last night as I walked through Norristown Farm Park, I felt nature in all her glory. There were deer grazing in an old corn field. Birds were chirping and singing all around. The tall grass swayed to the rhythms of the breeze. In the midst of the natural world, it felt like heaven. I felt peace. When I surrender and trust that Love is more powerful than fear, then I see the world change. I can be the change I wish to see in the world. It all begins with me, and you, and all of us. With Love all things are possible! Can I trust that last sentence? I am doing my best. I’m curious how is your relationship with trust?
